FIG 1.0 — AI tutoring agents

An AI tutor for Listening, available the moment your students need it.

The Listening agent plays exam-faithful audio once, walks students through Parts A, B and C, and turns every miss into a targeted drill — 24/7, in plain English.

FIG A — The agent

What the listening agent does

Plays it like the real thing

Audio runs once, at exam pace, with the on-screen answer sheet filling in as it plays. No scrubbing back — students rehearse the real constraint.

Explains every miss

After each attempt the agent shows where the answer was signalled in the audio, why a distractor was wrong, and the note-taking habit that would have caught it.

Builds a focused drill set

Recurring weak spots — number dictation, gist questions, speaker attitude — become short, repeatable drills the agent schedules for you.

Tutors on demand

Ask it anything mid-practice: vocabulary in a clinical extract, a phrase you missed, or how Part C differs from Part A. It answers in context.
FIG B — Format fidelity

How practice mirrors the sub-test

We match the structure, timing and on-screen behaviour of the official computer-based test so nothing on exam day is a surprise.

Structure
Three parts — A: consultation extracts, B: short workplace extracts, C: presentations.
Timing
Around 40 minutes, played continuously at exam pace.
Playback
Audio plays once; answers are entered as you listen, mirroring the computer-based test.
Answer entry
On-screen answer fields and note space, no paper.
FIG C — Feedback

What you get back

Every attempt produces structured, actionable feedback — provisional until a teacher signs it off.

  • Per-part breakdown of what you caught and what slipped by.
  • Transcript references pinpointing where each answer was cued.
  • Distractor analysis for the questions you got wrong.
  • A short, ranked list of listening sub-skills to drill next.

Honest note

The Listening agent uses original, OET-style audio and items built for practice. It does not reproduce live exam recordings, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the official test owner.
